Nice! What kind of camera did you get? I got to snap some shots there last year with my wife's new camera... its a great place to break it in! I love reflection pictures.
hey drew, it really is a beautiful & sobering place to be.
she picked me up a panasonic lumix gf1 with their 14-45mm zoom lens. i had a friend in town who helped me a bit with the technical side (shooting in raw) as well as editing them in lightroom. i'm excited to learn more.
I shot with a Cannon 50D at the time. We just recently purchased the 5d though... its amazing! Enjoy lightroom... its a great program for batch editing and doing a lot of stuff pre-photoshop.
I have to disagree with Samdaman above... I think the apt building is amazing... It is one of the few buildings in the area that represent perseverance. I can remember the day after the bombing being down there and seeing all of the carnage everywhere; the glass blown out of every building within several blocks of the building.... I think that the white building is quite symbolic and makes the second picture that much better.
Anyway, keep at the photography.... it only gets more and more fun. My wife and I are actually starting to do it professionally this year. It's a blast http://www.shancunninghamphotography.com/index2.php#/home/
